WOULD YOU
LIKE TO FIND JESUS?
After man fell in sin, God promised some help. In Genesis 3:15 God promised to send a redeemer. A woman and her offspring would make the difference. This he announced in hundreds of ways for years and years, and for thousands of years people kept hearing about this. From one generation to another, different prophets came along and said: the helper is coming, the Messiah is coming. One father after another told their children, one mother after another told stories about God and said: he's coming, he's coming, the Messiah is coming, God promised. We see in John 1, Jesus came, he was in the world, and through him the Word was made flesh, yet the world did not know who he was. Then, he came to his own and his own did not accept him. This is a tragic word, that Jesus came in the world and he was not recognized. I would like to be sure that you know Jesus, that you recognize Jesus, that you know what he did when he came. He said who he was, he proved it with the Bible, his Father confirmed the Word, the Good News, Jesus Christ by signs and wonders. Yet, people did not recognize him. Jesus says, if you don't believe my word, believe my works. Believe because of the signs you see. If you don't believe that, believe because of my Father. They did not recognize him. He said: "I will be with you every day until the end of time," and yet people can't find him. I've met many people who never found Jesus Christ. I met many people who don't know who he is. I've met many hundreds of people who would be stuck to say five things about Jesus Christ. This is unreal. He wants to be our friend. What kind of friend is a friend that you can't find? What kind of friend is a friend about whom you can't talk? In the Bible in John 1:36, John the Baptist said, as he saw Jesus approaching: "Look! There is the Lamb of God.'' The two disciples heard what he said, and followed Jesus. When Jesus turned around and noticed them following him, he asked them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi, (which means Teacher), where do you stay?'' Come and see" he answered. And John the apostle remembered because he said it was four o'clock in the afternoon. He never forgot it because he met Jesus at four o'clock. If I ask you, "Who is Jesus?" Would you tell me, one day at 4 o'clock or 10 o'clock or 2:00 am. I met Jesus Christ. This is the way he looked and this is what he said. And since that day I met him, I've never been the same. Would you say that? They went to Peter and said to Peter: we found him. In John 1 :41 I would like to say the same thing to you, we found him, yes. Come and see. In Holy Land, in Nazareth, in Bethlehem, in Bethany, in Capernaum and Galilee, the Mount of Beatitudes, he is still there. Ezekiel says: seek him where he can be found. We can find him. We have to seek him where he can be found. He can still be found in Nazareth, Bethlehem, Capernaum. His name is written all over the place there, where he walked and where he cried. Let's find him there where he came, know how he looks, how he talks, see how he acts, understand how he lives, then we can travel anywhere and we will find him in our paths. There is so much I want to share with you. If we can really find Jesus, then we will be able to see him walking the streets of any town, your town. We will know that Jesus knows every corner of our towns, he knows all the recesses of our hearts, all our memories and all the pains, all the joys, all the hurts over all our years. He knows our anguish and our love, our emptiness and our desires. Psalm 139 says very beautifully: "You know my inmost being." He knows us so well. He knows us inside out, and we hardly know him; inside or out. If we could really find Jesus Christ, then we would be the richest people because we would have something to give. Think of Peter and John going to the temple and a beggar asking for money. Peter said: we have neither silver nor gold but we have power. In the name of Jesus Christ, walk, and the man walked. If you have Jesus, you have power and you will have love, you will have understanding, compassion, forgiveness, and you will have a destination. Your life will be in order and you will know who you are and where you are going. Yes, seek first the kingdom and everything is going to be given besides. Jesus said, If you find him; you will have everything. In him we have life and being, it's all there. Jesus said: "I want you to have life and life in abundance." That's for today. God would just love to see you bubble with life. That's what it's all about. |
