Knights of Emmanuel
Miracle of the Rosary Mission
| There is a
continuing call of
Our Lady for perpetual adoration of her son Jesus, present in the Most
Blessed Sacrament. This call is not new. In the 1800’s Our Lady
revealed
the necessity of her call to St. Peter Julian Eymard, "All the
mysteries
of my Son have a religious order of men to honor them. The Eucharist
alone
has none ."
St. Peter Julian, known as the "Apostle of the Eucharist", served his priestly life with great zeal, animated by his extraordinary devotion of the Holy Eucharist. His heart burned with love for Our Lady and the desire to establish perpetual adoration of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, exposed and surrounded by great armies of adorers. In May of 1856, after much encouragement and support of Pope Pius IX, St. Eymard answered Our Lady’s call by founding the Congregation of the Most Blessed Sacrament. He later initiated the Servants of the Most Blessed Sacrament for women. For the laity, he established the People’s Eucharistic League and for priests, for whom he had great affection, he founded the Priest’s Eucharistic League, whose members pledged an hour of adoration weekly. Each group follows
their individual
requirements, but all have in common the undeniable truth that Jesus is
present in the Most Blessed Sacrament in all the tabernacles of the
world
and should be adored and glorified. St. Eymard gave Our Lady to all
members
under the beautiful title of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, as
the perfect model of the perfect "Yes".
The Miracle of the Rosary Mission has established two levels of commitment; Knights of Emmanuel and Knights of the Round Table and / or White Knights. Your commitment begins with a simple "Yes". The first level is Knights of Emmanuel, who solemnly pledge to pray five decades of the Rosary each day for the following intentions: The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the glorious reign of Emmanuel.
If you are alone in a parish, make the commitment and keep it. Ask your guardian angel to bring others to join you. The Angels have a great interest in adoration of our Lord. After all, they are the Supreme Guardians of the Eucharist, adoring our Lord perfectly, perpetually. Then he said to them, ‘My soul is very sorrowful even to death; remain here, and keep watch with me." (Matt 26:38) And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, "So, could you not keep awake with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matt 26:40-41) As St. Peter Julian said many times, "Jesus is there go to Him". Our Eucharistic Lord abides with us in the Most Blessed Sacrament through the ministry of the ministerial priesthood of the church. It is only by the power entrusted to our dear priests by Christ through the Church that simple bread and wine can miraculously become the body, blood, soul, and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is therefore safe to say, that without priests, there would be no Eucharistic Presence. We are living in a time when there is a great need of holy priests. Our Lady has called for prayer cenacles to be formed throughout the world to pray for an increase of vocations to the priesthood and the sanctification of priests. The Miracle of the Rosary Mission answered this call by praying a the Rosary daily before the Blessed Sacrament. In addition The Miracle of the Rosary Mission responds with a second "yes", resulting in our third level of commitment, White Knights. White Knights: This
group is
comprised of Knight of Emmanuel members who commit to pray and fast on
the First Thursday of the month, with intentions for the sanctification
of priests and vocations to the priesthood. White Knights may be the
most
important and certainly in these times, the most urgent. White Knights,
"Conscious of being cooperators with God the creator, redeemer and
sanctifier
Should remember that by public worship and by prayer, by penance and
the
willing acceptance of the toil and hardship of life by which they
resemble
the Suffering Christ (cf. 2 Cor. 4:10; Col. 1:24), they can reach all
men
and contribute to the Salvation of the entire world."
Mary led Maximilian to imitate her Son, Jesus. Jesus died on the cross, so that we might live. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) St. Maximilian Kolbe did just that. In 1941, he was imprisoned in the well known labor camp of Auschwitz. After the escape of a prisoner, nine prisoners were sentenced to be executed. One of the nine was a young married man who had children. St. Maximilian stepped forward and said, "I am a Catholic Priest and I am old; I want to take his place because he has a wife and children". After surviving two weeks of starvation, he was injected with carbolic acid and died. Let us pray that we
may burn
with that same fire of charity and heroic love for others that St.
Maximilian
gained from the Eucharist. We, too must be ready to defend the faith
and
contribute to the salvation of souls, even if it means giving up our
lives.
The Holy Father emphasizes this more and more, "We are called in these
days to give courageous witness to the Father, even heroic witness,
even
to the shedding of blood and laying down one’s life for the sake of the
gospel". And when they bring you to trial and deliver you up, do not be
anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say whatever is given you
in
that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit, (Mk 13:11)
and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to
the end will be saved. (Mk 13:13)
We cannot compromise the TRUTH or betray the FAITH. We must give that heroic witness in the world that the words of Jesus be fulfilled through our lives, that we may be recognized by our love for one another, out of love for Christ and love for the Church. The Miracle of the Rosary Mission encourages all priests and laity to respond to Our Lady's call for perpetual adoration. The cost of apathy is great; It is measured in souls. Join with us in a crusade of prayer and sacrifice, and become a GUARDIAN OF THE EUCHARIST. |
